Most hospice care is provided in the comfort of your own home or a home of a family member or wherever patients call home. This could be a private residence, a family member’s home, a nursing facility, or an assisted living facility.
Palliative care is similar but different than Hospice Care. In palliative care, the patient is still allowed to receive curative treat plans and is expected to live longer than 6 months.
A hospice care physician is responsible for overseeing hospice care and palliative care patients’ treatment plans. Such things as medications for symptoms and pain relief.
